Dec was born deaf, and from a young age found subtle ways to adapt - turning faces toward him to lip-read and relying on hearing aids he never felt proud to wear.

Years later, while studying Chemistry at Edinburgh University, he discovered entrepreneurship and met Daniela, a Romanian jewellery designer. Their connection deepened into love, and she soon understood his complicated relationship with his hearing aids.

On his birthday, Daniela crafted a gift that changed everything: elegant covers that turned Dec’s hearing aids from medical devices into something beautiful, personal, and empowering.

Luxury Meets Meaning
Since she was 13, Daniela would rush home from school in Romania to make jewellery for friends and family - what began as a pastime quickly became her calling.

Her passion led her to study Jewellery Design at Edinburgh University and spend summers in San Diego, taking jewellery courses from the age of eight. Over 14 years, she’s mastered fine jewellery, goldsmithing, and gemstones, earning her GIA certification and working with leading jewellery houses.

Now 27, Daniela has found her purpose with Auzi - bringing the artistry of fine jewellery to assistive devices, turning functionality into beauty and pride.
