Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery details; order, payment, refund and transaction information; account and customer-service information; hearing-device brand, model, size, side, power or battery information and other compatibility details; photographs or files you choose to upload so we can verify fit or fulfil a bespoke order; messages, enquiries and reviews; website, device, browser, IP address, cookie and analytics information; and marketing preferences and interactions with our communications.

Hearing-device and potentially sensitive information

We do not need your medical records or clinical diagnosis to make Auzi jewellery.

However, hearing-device information or an optional photograph may in some circumstances reveal or allow an inference about a person’s disability or health and may therefore be treated as special category data under data-protection law.

We minimise this information and use it only where needed for compatibility, manufacture, fulfilment, customer support, safety or related record-keeping.

Where information is special category data, we will only process it where a valid condition under applicable data-protection law applies.

Where explicit consent is the appropriate condition, we will ask for that consent separately. Consent may be withdrawn, subject to any processing already lawfully carried out.

Why we use personal information and our lawful bases

Processing and fulfilling orders

We use your information to process, manufacture, deliver and support your order because this is necessary to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We keep appropriate accounting, tax and business records where required to comply with our legal obligations.

Who we share information with

We may share personal information only where reasonably necessary with Shopify and other ecommerce or website providers; payment processors and fraud-prevention providers; shipping carriers and fulfilment providers; manufacturing and production partners involved in making your order; email, customer-support, analytics and marketing providers; professional advisers, insurers and auditors; and regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where required by law.

We ask service providers to use personal information only for the services they provide to us and to protect it appropriately.

International transfers

Auzi sells and operates internationally, and some service providers or production partners may process information outside the UK.

Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an approved mechanism such as adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful safeguard.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legal, accounting, tax, warranty, dispute-resolution and fraud-prevention requirements.

Order and transaction records may generally be kept for up to six years where needed for accounting, tax or contractual records.

Device photographs and compatibility information are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to manufacture, verify fit, support the order and meet relevant legal requirements.

Marketing information is kept until you opt out or it is no longer reasonably needed.

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions and, where permitted, analytics, personalisation and marketing.
